Campaign Story
Hi - my name is JP and I am a father of 2 boys, both diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am looking for a way for me to use my skills and expertise now, so that they can use their unique talents later. As a developer and analyst, I have an idea - but I please need your help...
It’s autism awareness month and I would like to introduce you to Autismate
It’s a crowdsharing / social network app designed specifically for people who have been diagnosed with autism, and those people that care for them to be able to share skills, products, tips, second hand goods, apps and anything that will help lighten the pressure of a neurotypical world.
The goal is to harness and share the incredible abilities of autistic adults and the parents/teachers/caregivers of people on the spectrum.
Hopefully, this is the start of an entire app suite that will enable neurodiverse individuals to flourish by opening up a heavily privatised and moderated safe space where no (legal) project is dismissed.
Phase II will include vocational and technological training for young and old.
It’s support network for anyone that lives with autism. With safeguards against hate speech, bullying, triggers, and more.
It’s a way to share skills and make money that is maybe not possible in a world geared towards neurotypical individuals.
This online marketplace - specifically aimed at empowering people on the Autism Spectrum and those who care for them.
By allowing them to trade their goods and services for special credits, called Karma; anyone who uses the app can either then use their Karma to purchase others' goods and services or get paid out a cash value. (1KP = ~$0.5 USD).
The amount of Karma earned depends on your role and type of contributions made. A person on the spectrum would earn slightly more than a parent, who would in turn earn more than an educator, and so on.
This in turn assists with the creation of job opportunities, ideas exchange and raise awareness for a large section of the population who live with autism. The aim is not to cure autism, but rather to embrace it, to create a secure, vetted, moderated network of people connected to ASD, to showcase their skills, abilities and expertise. And for a community to uplift itself through support, technology and communication.
The proceeds raised will pay for the design, development, testing and launch of the Autismate app phase 1.
The funds will be allocated as follows:
