Austrian Red Cross Internship

Dear Friends and Family,

The end of my Junior year at Bryan College sees me on the cusp of a grand academic adventure!  As a part of my Politics and Government degree, and in light of my recent focus on International Relations, my good friend Jacob Hawkins and I have been given the opportunity to travel to Eisenstaedt, Austria to intern with the Austrian Red Cross.   Due to the fact that there are so many countries in such a close vicinity in Europe, the Austrian Red Cross deals with International Relations on a much higher level than any such entity in the US.  Through this internship, I’ll be able to apply many of the principles I have been studying in class.

As a part of my internship, I will be interviewing key personnel in every department of the Red Cross, ranging from practical humanitarian field work to the different ways the Austrian Red Cross deals with political differences in surrounding nations.  My hope is that God would use this internship to give me further direction towards what He wants me to do with my life to make a difference for His Kingdom.

In Eisenstaedt I will be staying with a host family that is a part of the Austrian Red Cross, but, as an intern, I will not be paid for my work, and I will have to cover airfare to and from Austria.  This is where you come in!  My goal is to raise at least $2000 by mid-June to pay for my flights and to cover any extra costs I will have during my residence in Europe.  Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  In addition to monetary support, Jacob and I are in need of prayer support as well.  Please pray for our safe travels, for the interviews we will be conducting with the staff of the Red Cross, and for clarity in our lives as we pursue what the Lord has for us in Austria.  We will have many opportunities to share our faith with those around us, and we will need all the prayers you can send our way.
