In 1945 my grandfather escaped nighttime bombing raids against London and other British cities by Nazi Germany during World War II. He along with his father and brother leaving his mother behind, they fled the country along with many other families, resigning in the "safe haven" of Australia. To this day my grandfather regrets not going back to his home country in hopes of finding any record of his mother and other family who could not escape.

My grandfather is my hero, he's been my father figure and he helped my mum raise me from 6 months old, he's taught me so much in my time on earth so far, I feel like I could never repay him for the things he's given me in life.

In June 2017, my grandfather was diagnosed with alzheimers and has slowly been losing his memory to this day, unfortunately this brought everything he can remember from fleeing his country back into his mind which has caused him to develop severe PTSD.

Along with a list of other horrible medical conditions this has made him even more determined to go "home" before he dies.

I started this fundraiser in hopes of getting enough money to fly him and myself over to London for a week so I can take him to find any remains of what could be his family in Essex.
