Australian 17 year old, Katie Gardner, has been fortunate enough to make selections for the U19 Australian Junior Beach Volleyball team as well as the U19 Australian Junior Indoor Volleyball team! Katie has been playing volleyball for four years now and is currently completing year twelve in Adelaide, South Australia. She has fallen in love with the sport and works hard to achieve the best results she can, also within her education. Finishing off last year with straight A's and a gold medal competing in Australia's largest school sporting competition the standards this year have been set higher! Due to playing the sport at an elite level it is required for athletes to compete overseas, and making selections for both sports, beach and indoor, the price is also doubled.
Hello! My parents have aloud me to compete in the U19's Asian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships Qualifications for the World Junior Beach Volleyball Championships out of the money in their pockets. This championships is to be held in LAOS late may. However, this was the limit, if I wanted to compete in Thailand for the Indoor volleyball championships then it would mostly have to come out of my own funds (as my parents would help a little) because it is a great deal of money for my parents to pay entirely. So... I am doing as much as I can to make my own money and compete in this once in a life time opportunity. I am extremely grateful to have come this far and would not have if it weren't for the great support my family has provided in the past. I hope this may interest you as I am extremely excited by these opportunities and would love to compete in a sport I have such a great passion for.
