Auntie Celia’s Medical Expenses

Hi guys, this request for donation is in behalf of my Aunt Celia and her family.

On September 22, 2019 she had a vehicular accident that resulted to her having fluid buildup in her lungs, broken rib, torn ear and possible damage to her spine. She was transfused 2 units of blood and needs 4 more units. She developed pneumonia and bedsores in the last 2 weeks. The family decided to transfer my aunt to a different hospital with better facilities and a lower patient to nurse ratio in order for her to get the proper patient care that she badly needs. The hospital bill is rising and they are already beyond what the insurance will cover. We tried to raise money within the family and friends but that got spent right away for medications, hospital supplies, and procedures like xrays, CT-SCANs, and other expenses and the cost is just too big.

My aunt’s husband Uncle Boy, my cousin Grace and her husband Gideon are on work leave right now taking turns being her patient “watcher”.In the Philippines it is important to have a patient “watcher” .A watcher is someone who buys the needed medicine or supplies if the hospital does not carry them, helps feed the patient, helps wheel the patient to and from departments for procedures, gives patient bed bath among other things (basically a family nurse aid). Right now she is in hospital ward without air-conditioning with 12 other patients and 12 patient watchers. They take turns sleeping on a bench in a waiting shed outside the hospital

So far my aunt is holding up, she was able to sing hymns and praises despite feeling super weak. Her hemoglobin dropped to 3.5g/dl or 35g/L!!!

I am asking for your prayer for strength and endurance for my aunt and as well and the medical team who are taking care of her.
