Audio Bibles for Pakistan

Brother Sohail Rehmat is the pastor of Last Age Ministries, a Christian church in Lahore, Pakistan. He is also a translator of many Christian books into the Urdu language. In the areas of Pakistan where Sohail witnesses in there is great poverty and literally millions of people who have no formal schooling and often cannot read or write. This has been a major problem that the evangelizing church has faced for thousands of years, but with today's technology a small jump drive or SD card can gift an illiterate person, family or community with the entirety of scripture for a very low cost.

Often brother Sohail can be found open-air preaching in communities throughout Pakistan to people who have never heard the gospel preached by a true believer. With the aid of a laptop, projection screen technology and gospel-rich digital media—such a the Jesus Film Project—pastor Sohail has been used by God to bring many new converts into the fold of Christ over the years in a very dangerous place, where Christians are routinely persecuted and even killed. As often as possible, Sohail will freely give Pakistani people SD cards, flash drives and even all-in-one media players that have the entire Bible preloaded onto them in the Urdu language.

Pastor Sohail has told me of times that young persons would approach him on the street and ask him to help them delete their music off their personal media devices so that they could have enough digital storage to hold the Bible files that he gave them. Think about that for a moment; How many young persons do you know that would give up their own music and videos just so they can have a Bible that they can play for themselves and others? Not only that, but often these people have only just heard the gospel for the first time.

The Bible says that "No one can come to God unless He draws them." (John 6:44) This means that those who pursue God are doing so because of His supernatural influence. The Holy Spirit is moving in Pakistan! People are being saved. Entire families and communities are hearing the Bible for the first time. Villages are gathering at night to see the Jesus Film projected onto the sides of houses. No million-dollar media teams. No fancy, palatial-sized churches. No private jets or mega-pastors. Just humble, spirit-filled servants of Christ using the gifts God gave them to reach real people in their communities.

Now I've shared with you what is happening this very day in Pakistan because of the love and courage of our brothers and sisters at Last Age Ministries, and through the leadership of their pastor, Sohail Rehmat. Now that you know what the Holy Spirit is doing in Pakistan, I want to ask you to pray about helping brother Sohail complete his godly mission to put audio Bibles in the hands and homes of Pakistani peoples. It costs about $15 US dollars to buy an all-in-one media player, preloaded with the entire Bible in audio format in the native Urdu language. Please, consider generously giving from the bounty that God has given you, to the cause of God reaching Pakistan with the gospel. All the confirmation of what God is doing can be seen when you see the pictures of people receiving the gift of the Bible joyously.

In Romans 3:11 Paul said that "None seek God." The fact that these people are being saved, asking for Bibles and proceeding to share their faith with their neighbors is proof that the Holy Spirit is working in supernatural ways in Pakistan right now. Oh, how I wish that this were happening in my own community. Indeed, I pray for that very thing. Now, I do not know the mind of God, but I trust Him. Wherever He is working, there I want to be, too, working alongside Him for His kingdom coming. He is working in Pakistan, Church. Join Him today. Help brother Sohail. Help the people of Pakistan. Do something for the kingdom. Serve King Jesus. Give the gift of the Bible to a stranger on the other side of the world today. I just spoke with brother Sohail on the phone last night and I promised him that I would set up this fundraiser. Now, I've done my part. Will you help? Will you give?
