ATLAS – Movement Building and Website creation

Update posted by Sareta Ashraph On Oct 31, 2018

Dear all,

As you will hopefully know by now, the ATLAS website has launched at www.atlaswomen.org! It's packed full of women-in-PIL goodness, including: profiles of women in PIL sharing their reflections and advice; insights from women in our field; information on #ATLASToo, event listings, as well as information on ATLAS's mission and vales, how to become an Ally, and merch!

If you're interested in profiling a women in PIL, or in writing an insight (500-800 words only!), or would like to list an event, please get in touch - either through the site or through FB or Twitter (@atlas_women).

Thank you so much for your support! Your donations are what made www.atlaswomen.org possible. We hope you are proud of the result!

Best,

Sareta & Michelle

Dear all, we'd like to include, as part of the coming ATLAS website, a 'thank you' wall to all those who donated to make the website possible and to show the community that is ATLAS. I'll be reaching out individually to those who donated anonymously through the gogetfunding page, paypal or through direct bank transfer to get your consent -or not- to be listed. (As the fundraising admin, I still get the names even if you list yourself anonymously)

*If you donated publicly and listed your name on the gogetfunding page, we are taking that as consent to also put you on the 'donors' wall on the ATLAS page. If you listed yourself publicly on the GFF page but don't want to be on the thank you wall on the ATLAS site, pls get in touch*

If you would like to cut down on the number of emails I'll have to send (please...), please send me a FB message or an email ([email protected]) saying 'I donated and consent/do not consent to my name being listed on the 'thank you' wall on the website.' If your FB name is nickname or pseudonym, please make sure you put your name in the message.

I'd be grateful if you would let me know by the weekend, when I'll be emailing anyone who hasn't been in touch.

Many thanks for all of your support,

Sareta & Michelle

Thank you again for your donation! Over the next few weeks, I'll be sending out short updates on the progress of the website and its contents. We searched far and wide for a designer we felt understood the ethos and vision of ATLAS and thankfully we found Marissa Conway (https://www.marissaconway.com) who, aside from being a designer and photographer, also is the co-founder of the Centre For Feminist Foreign Policy (https://centreforfeministforeignpolicy.org). It's a great organisation so please do check them out (as well as their site, which Marissa also created).

In a few days, we'll set up a "landing site" (I'm learning a lot of website design lingo these days) where you can sign up for alerts on the ATLAS site. Hopefully the logo/ branding will also be finalised by that stage as well. Thank you again for your support to our community!

Warmly,

Sareta x

Thank you so very much for setting up the magnificent ATLAS group and now expanding our reach and impact with this excellent website. Being a part of this group has really enriched me, in the sense of meeting wonderful and inspiring women, receiving very interesting information and, last but not least, it played a big role in me getting the job I currently hold and cherish. Amazing work!
