Who are we? What is the challenge?
We are Team Astro to Atlantic, four women from South Devon who have been playing hockey together for the past 12 years. In December 2018 we will be rowing the Atlantic Ocean in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, as part of the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. We will row 3000 miles, from La Gomera to Antigua. Rowing 2 hours on, 2 hours off, 24 hours a day.
The Atlantic is an incredible test of human endurance and we are relishing the challenge, we plan on going a step further than just completing the row, we want to break the world record and become the fastest female crew of four to row across the Atlantic. All funds raised on this page will be used to help make our challenge a reality.
Why?
We all love a challenge, but it's much more than that. We want to make sure that our ambition translates into a force for good, so we will be rowing for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. A charity which is vital to all who live in the many remote and rural areas in Devon.
