My name is Eve Heyns and I'm currently registered as a student at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business (GSB) studying towards a Post-graduate diploma in Management Practices (Honours level). I was absolutely elated to be accepted into this programme especially since I am a previously disadvantaged individual and I did not initially meet all the entrance requirements but was admitted as I had the necessary experience and potential.
I was due to complete my qualification in 2019 however funding problems have crept in and it is putting a damper on proceeding with studies, and have been advised by the university that I will not be able to complete my qualification, graduate, receive my marks or apply for further study opportunities until fees are settled. Fees were supposed to have been settled during 2018 however I was not able to do so as I was retrenched,, due to company re-organisation, at end March 2018 and have not been able to secure another work opportunity to pay off my student account. I also do not qualify for financial aid.
Adding further to my financial dilemma is securing funding for an internationally accredited coaching course that will assist me in working through past personal trauma, that has previously been repressed and affecting me a great deal, and help others who has been in the same boat as myself - I have a dream to establish a non-profit foundation in this regard as I have found that there is such a great need for this. This coaching course is offered by New Ventures West, a partner of the GSB, at their head offices in the USA. While it looks promising that I could qualify for a partial scholarship to attend this programme I would still need some assistance towards fees and costs for travel to attend the 4 contact sessions scheduled over a period of one year. This programme will help to rebuild the person that I truly am, help me grow, develop and touch the lives of others because we are people through the people around us...the spirit of Ubuntu.
I would appreciated financial assistance of any amount and if it is possible someone could also assist me with travel costs by using their travel miles. At the moment I do not have any income and have exhausted unemployment payments. I remain positive to secure employment soon to reach the goals set and to make a difference in the lives of others. One step at a time we can help make this world a better place to live in by using our skills to impact positively on others.
