My name is Sarah. I am currently finishing my bachelors degree, with plans to continue to get my masters degree in elementary education. School has been a much slower process than expected. I currently work a full time job as well as working a part time job and going to school. I have had many financial set backs including major car troubles and even more importantly my dog's vet bills.
Zeus is an Italian greyhound, and if you know anything about the breed, he is very fragile. As a puppy he jumped off the couch (which had already been lowered by removing the legs and setting it directly on the floor) and broke his left left, and then did the same exact thing to the right leg about a month and a half later. He had surgery to put plates in each leg since he had broken straight through both bones in each leg and also required follow up surgery.
In the past year he has cost about $6,500 in surgery costs, not including follow up appointments and x-rays. We are currently still paying on these enormous bills. I have taken out loans and opened a pet care credit card to pay for it. This has made it very hard to pay for school, and I have exhausted all financial aid that was offered to me.
In order to hurry my education along a little bit, my advisor has suggested taking a couple of classes over the summer, allowing me to graduate at the end of the fall semester, and begin my masters program in January rather than next September. After starting the program, my education will still take one year, plus 14 weeks of student teaching. After tuition and fess, two summer classes will cost about $1200. Any help to make it so that I can finish school sooner will be appreciate more than any of you can realize. Hopefully I will be helping to shape the minds of young children very soon! Thank you for your support!!!!
