London to Land's End Charity Row

We are four ordinary women taking on an extraordinary challenge. We will be taking part in the GB Row Challenge London to Land's End 2022. Rowing 500 miles to raise money for mental health charities Cornwall Mind & Devon Mind and Action - Medical Research for Children.

The Challenge

Launching from Tower Bridge on 5th June 2022, we will row nonstop and unaided in shifts for 24hrs a day until we reach Land's End, we expect this to take around 2 weeks but will depend entirely on the strength and direction of the winds we get. We'll need to navigate very carefully to work with tides and currents and to avoid over 500 ships per day that use the English channel. We'll be onboard an amazing ocean rowing boat named Lady Jayne for the entirety of the row, sleeping in very small cabins and eating high calorie instant meals.

Ultimately we are doing this to raise awareness and money for charity.

Where will the money go?

MIND

• Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
• They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
• Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
• Mind believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.

ACTION

• We’re on a mission to save and change children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.
• Surprisingly, medical research tackling childhood diseases is poorly funded in the UK. Action Medical Research has a critical job to do in helping fill this gap to protect children. With your help, we’re determined to change this and make a real difference to children's lives. The prospects for finding new cures and treatments is almost within our grasp. Right now we are funding vital research projects with many more ready to go – but we simply can’t fund them all.

£20 in sponsorship will get you:

1. One of our fab crew t-shirt as part of our official supporters club.

3. Free postage to a UK address

£240 in sponsorship will get you:

1. This will fund a full day of research at Action, helping to learn more about childhood diseases and stillbirth and premature birth.
2. Your name or your organisation's name and a link to your website, if you have one, on our website.
