On Feb. 3rd, 2015 Ashley Curry was harassed and assaulted and in defending herself was wrongfully charged for exercising her 2nd amendment right. She was on her way home from a doctors apt. when she was tailgated and followed by a woman who was unknown to her. Ashley pulled into a public parking lot at a strip mall. Ashley got out to speak to her and was assaulted in the process. In an attempt to get back into her vehicle 2 more woman who were each at least 3 times her size and also unknown to her came to assault her and Ashley repeatedly told them to back off. They continued their approach and one of the 2 women went to take her gun. She was left with no choice but to defend herself.

When police responded they detained Ashley as if it were her fault. The incident was captured by many people on recording devices from different positions and of the multiple police agencies responding they collected no video or pictorial evidence from bystanders and potential witnesses even though it was available at the time. While she was in prison a person who had captured video and pictures of the incident came forward with evidence to support the truth which is a great help to Ashley's case.

We are trying to raise money to hire a lawyer and investigator to further pursue the truth in this matter that the police failed to do. This is unacceptable and unjust. Injustice for one is injustice to all.

Notice to all C.C.P. holders and legal gun owners if you are ever put in the position to have to defend yourself with deadly force you too could be unjustly and wrongfully charged with out a proper investigation. Being forced into a system that is not about innocent until proven guilty but the other way around. The charging Officer did not even go to the scene but relied and based his decision on alleged witnesses.

Ashley is a mother of 3 children and has 2 dogs and her boyfriend who is chronically ill and requires daily medically treatment. She is a sweet person who does not deserve to be treated in this manner for having to defend her life in a stand your ground state. Her family doesn't deserve to be without her as a result of the position she was forced into. Ashley was outnumbered and out sized... Videos of the aftermath are posted on columbiapaonline facebook page posted from March 2015. In the one video one of the women after the shooting was still trying to get to Ashley even after she managed to get inside her vehicle and lock her doors...She is seen pulling on the door handle several times trying to gain entry.. The girl who was shot and her partner were both on probation and are no strangers to the law....

We intend to fight until justice prevails so please help us. To date Ashley has exhausted all financial resources and we still have more costs to incur in our pursuit of justice. Thank you in advance for your support and special thanks to those who helped us this far. If you are unable to donate please share this.

Update after waiting almost a year and several lawyers later Ashley Finally got a copy of the police report. The alleged victim Jamie Roland was on active probation and found in possession of a drug pipe on her person..One can assume she was high as a kite too. It's a real shame when a prosecutor cares more about securing a wrongful conviction then pursuing justice... So one must wonder why this person is not and has not been charged with a probation violation and a charge for the drug pipe? Also this part was not put in the press release.. How convenient for the real thugster criminals and alleged victims in this case and how sad for Ashley the real victim not just of the "thugster criminals" but also of the system...... Attached is a photo of the police report document showing the drug pipe and who it belonged to.that

Yet another update. After a year and when trial is supposed to begin the Prosecutor in this case Mr. Larsen produces medical record evidence that shows the alleged victim Jamie Roland was on 2 seperate illegal drugs.

People should know that Jamie Roland was on probation during this time and never violated or charged with a drug pipe offense. Wow sounds a lot like selective prosecution. How about the news who covered this story follow up and cover that? Perhaps they could do an interview with said prosecutor and ask him why then publish that? In the name of truth and more importantly justice. While they are at it they should ask why the prosecutor failed to produce such medical evidence until the day of trial?

Ashley has had to retain a new Lawyer because her ex- Attorney Michael Marinaro had to "withdraw" from the case because he represented the alleged victim Jamie Roland in not just one but two prior criminal matters which created a "conflict of interest". Ashley was told this the day her trial was scheduled. Ashley now has a new Attorney. Trial scheduled for July 18th 2016 even though she has not received any of the video taped statements that were supposed to be handed over last year along with a copy of the medical record evidence......Hmmm. Is that generally how courts do business or is that just in Pa? To schedule a trial knowing the defense doesn't have all the evidence?
