My name is Fausat Ashim,Nigerian, a 38 years old widow with three children. My husband died two years ago of chronic kidney failure (a medical condition in which the kidney no longer works, resulting in high blood pressure, swollen legs, fatigue etc.) His ill health was protracted, we visited many hospitals as we fought for his life.

Consequently, all our savings was burnt up in cost of medical bills and treatment while leaving us indebted. To settle some of the my non-compromising creditors, I sold off some of our valuable belongings just to make ends meet. Yet to no avail.

My petty trading (provision store) had since gone down during the course of his treatment and we had to use what was left of it for our personal upkeep till we had nothing to live on.

Ever since his demise, we have struggle to survive. I have been unable to send my children back to school for the past two years now.
I had to pray daily for my children's health not to get out of control because the last treatment they received from the local drug store on the street is yet unpaid for and others.
At the moment, we have no money to eat and are homeless.
