Asaase YAA Educational Center & Natural Sanctuary in GHANA 🇬🇭

Hello Everyone, as most of you might know I have been living off-grid, trying my best to live a natural and self sustainable life in connection to our roots and earth.

I am located in Ghana, west Africa, in the very land left in heritage by my great-grand father and great-grandmother, in the middle of a rural area in a tropical forest in the lush of the Eastern Region.

I first moved here in 2019, when the land basically abandoned and almost untouched.

I was alone with only one mattress, one mosquito net, a tarp and a few buckets and hand tools.

Through lots of work, dedication and vision, within a few years, I managed to build my natural home, to grow a little organic garden from where to feed myself and where I also practice indigenous food processing, and I also get the chance to build a few little basic structures to host a few guests throughout the year who were willing to learn and embrace this harmonious and earthly way during my workshops.

Creating an educational space for people all across the world.

This very land is located a few minutes ride from the main village of Mankrong, a small farming community made up by 800 people circa, this is my closest community not only physically but also personally, since it has been partially founded by my very great grandfather.

Indeed, a few members of the village are also involved with the workshops, not only they share important and precious indigenous/self-sustainable/ethical knowledge with our guests, but also for them to gain extra incomes. And knowing these post-colonial unethical times, where farmers from indigenous countries are those who get less, extra incomes can be essential also in order to create more of a monetary independency.

Due to the limited facilities and lack of staff, I managed to only host a few people at the time and very sporadically, but more can be done.

I think is time for us to expand the vision and to add more appropriate natural facilities in order to transform this mini-eco-village to a solid natural-living model from where many others can be educated, inspired, and growing from.

A natural-sanctuary, with the function of an educational-center to embody the change we all need to see for Mother Earth, our society and ultimately for our inner peace.

I am now planning to build:

Solar System 15kwh circa
(To feed the whole eco-village completely with solar power)

2.
Dormitory x1
(to allow more people to lodge and embrace this natural way)

3.
Borehole
(so far i have been relying on rainy water by creating water storages but is not enough to feed multiple people)

4.
Compost Toilet x2
Showers x2
(to optimize space)

5.
Open Hut (Dining Hall/Yoga Shala)
(To have lessons, gathers, talks, exercises at ease with our guests despite the weather)

6.
Paving the road that connects the close by village of Mankrong to the main road
(To allow our close by community to travel more smoothly from the village to the main road example hospitals, markets, car stations etc)

7.
Studio Hut x3
(To allow guests, artists, who wish to stay for a longer time to be able to have their privacy, independency and self discovery-journey during their stay)
