Artists in Transit – ATHENS 2016

Artists in Transit are a collaborative arts team aimed at delivering workshops to communities and people in times of hardship.

My name is Molly, I am a youth and project worker from London.I founded this team in September 2016 because I wanted to combine my love of children & young people, art and volunteering. I spent time in Kos last year, in-between the chaos and upset the moments when children were giving the space to create and express themselves really stuck with me. Art speaks no language, has no age and benefits the artist and the audience in multiple ways.

Artists in Transit will be running creative workshops for refugees and migrants in Athens (ELEONAS Camp) in October 2016 (1st-16th)

We are fundraising to cover the cost of:

-All workshop equipment.

-Volunteer expenses (food/travel)

-Donations for people we meet.

Our mission is simple: To give children and young people a safe space in which they can switch off and create art to help foster self expression and give them a sense of freedom they may feel they have lost.

We hope this is the first of many trips for our team, so please donate if you can.
