Hi, my name is David Richardson and I'm the single father with primary custody of my 3 1/2 year son, Chase.  By day, I'm a phlebotomist with a blood bank but my real passion is in fire performance.  My full-time job covers the bills, but barely, and I'm looking to supplement my income and help provide for my son by launching a side business as a fire performer.  This business allows me the flexibility of earning additional funds, while still allowing me to spend quality time with my son. 

I began learning the art of poi -- a style of dance involving tethered weights lit on fire and spun rythmically to music -- a year ago and have since expanded to working with dual fire staffs.  What began as a hobby has since grown to become a passion -- and a service I have found to be in demand at parties, weddings and other special events.  Because my income goes entirely to pay the living expenses of my son and me, I need assistance with raising the capital to start my own business, including state filing fees, performer's liability insurance and with basic supplies.
