For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to sell my art. Now that I have grown up and had children, I've finally found my place in the art world. However, hundreds of artists in my area ALONE have little hope of their work being found by the right buyer - and those who do will lose a significant portion of the sale price to comission and fees.

This is why I have decided to open an artisan market to downtown Johnson City or Jonesborough, Tennessee. This will give artists and crafters an opportunity to showcase their one of a kind items to the residents of East Tennessee. Each crafter will have their own space to customize as they like, and pay a flat monthly fee. The market alone will boost local economy by encouraging more handi-persons to take the dive toward entrpreneurial success. I will also host art classess for adults and young adults, assisting those who desire to take their craftsmanship to the next step.

With a market that offers one-of-a-kind goods, art and technique classes, as well as locally made art supplies, everyone with an interest in the art world will benefit. Help support local economy as well as the arts by assisting me with this business venture.

I am currently writing a book about my adventure and obstacles in business ownership. All who assisst me will receive recognition in the book. Different levels of donations will receive various gifts such as free art lessons, free one-of-a-kind art pieces, free trial booth spaces or discounted booth space for a year, and more. I am confident that, with your help, I will make this happen! Let's get this market running before Christmas 2013!

City Correction

Update posted by Heather Mather at 03:01 am

I see now that it saved it under Johnston City - not Johnson City.  This fundraiser is to open an artisan market in or around Johnson City, Tennessee (Northeast Tennessee). Sorry for the mixup!
