Art Supplies for Children in Papua New Guinea!

Art has been such a big part of my life - creating has always brought me great joy. It has increased my capacity to wonder, express myself and show compassion towards others.

Being a substitute teacher for around six years also showed me that I enjoy teaching. Watching the “aha” moment students have when they discover something new is so rewarding.

I am currently serving with a faith based non-profit here in Papua New Guinea as a media director. I recently was able to teach a short art course for my colleagues children, including an art show for their friends and family. My colleagues and I feel that providing this art course to the children of the community would not only provide them with new skills but would also be beneficial for their emotional and spiritual well-being.

As a missionary, I depend on the financial support of others to do what I do. Art supplies can be very expensive in general - not to mention a bit hard to get to here. Funds raised using this site would enable me to travel to our nearest art supply store and purchase the supplies needed to make a free art class available to the local children of the Aiyura Valley. Any excess funds raised will be used to continue my work here in Papua New Guinea. I would love to be able to enrich these children’s lives through teaching them more about creating and their Creator!
