Art Studio for Children

Hello everyone! My name is Alexandra Filimon. I have graduated Art University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, Graphic Design Department, and now about to graduate Grad School, continuing with my PHD in Arts.

I am a very ambitious person, always thinking about how to make a difference in people's lifes through art. I would like to start a bussiness by making an art studio for young, passionate children and adolescents, where they will learn not just how to draw or paint, but also THINK. Because art isn't all about brush strokes; it is about creativity and learning how to come up with new ideas. By thinking creatively and outside the box, you learn how to come up with new sollutions, new ways of making things work.

This studio is not destined just for people with talent, because the talent is formed in time. The studio will be destined to everyone who wants to have fun, think creative, come up with new ideas and expressing their personalities. In my opinion, art stands an the base of many jobs such as: architecture, design, cookery, and a lot of types of entertainment that we all enjoy. If the child is teached from a young age to let his mind free and think in a creative way, express his own personality and also develop it strong in time, he will be able to make a difference in a world. And that is the purpose that I have - teach the new generation of children, that are living in vulnerable times, how to make the world a better place in the future.

Furthermore, tusing art as a therapy is also a part of the programme. Many children live in disfunctional families, face things that they are too ashamed or afraid to talk about them with someone. Giving the emotions a new material form, can be a release. They are outside the mind and body now - a work of art that can be veritable. I would like to teach the children, through art, how to cope with emotions, how to face them and use every one of them as an inspiration, as something that can be transformed in a art piece, or an idea which, materialized in time, can help other children with the same problems.
