Art Psychotherapy tuition fees

Hello all, One day you lose your hair out of the blue and your life changes forever. I have alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that makes you lose your hair at will and you do not know if it will come back.

What has brought me here, is my dream of being an Art Therapists. When I finished my bachelor of arts in 2012 in Scotland I decided to return to my country for a while to work and save enough money to go ahead with my dream to study a postgraduate course on Art Psychotherapy. Unfortunately has not been easy to find jobs without experience on the field of art so I have been doing a bit of everything, plus salaries are quite tight.

Meanwhile, I began to lose my hair and that led me into darkness, I lost my self-esteem and the desire to move on. Until one day I decided that the disease was not going to control me. The excessive prices of wigs force me to shave the few hair I had left and face it without covering my head. I began to search videos on you tube from people who bring their knowledge in psychology, philosophy and spirituality among others and I began to apply this new knowledge on me. This have a huge impact on me and I rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

Now I can look at myself from the inside, I have become stronger and consciousness and I am still working of become my greatest version. I share my experience through social networks for people with alopecia for them not feel lonely and show them to love themselves.

Now i know i can make an improve on people lives. I would love to be trained properly, the art psychotherapist’s task is to support processes of emotional integration by providing a safe, reliable and containing therapeutic environment within which the person can create and use art making to develop insight and promote change. All students are required to be in personal psychotherapy throughout the duration of the course. The discipline of art psychotherapy is applied within psychiatry, special education, social services and the voluntary sector.

I will be eternally grateful if this is fulfilled and I would love in return to give some of my time to help those who are lack of resources for their personal improvement and wellbeing.
