My name is Jackie Abrahams and I am trying to raise money for an exhibition to display my art work at a London venue and raise money for breast cancer which I am deeply passionate about. My personal drive for wanting to do this has arisen from my sister, Paula, who was suffering a long, terminal illness fighting breast cancer. Some of my work reflects the pain and suffering Paula had endured throughout her painful journey. I have expressed my feelings through my artwork/paintings as it is my way of coping with the fear of losing her. Some paintings reflect the question "What is life all about?" I feel i need to share my emotions through these paintings and link my passion for art together with raising money for such a wonderful cause to help others. As sisters we were very close and her suffering totally changed her life and also those around her that adored her. Her journey took so many devastating twists and turns. The anxiety of waiting for a succession of results and feeling so helpless knowing there is nothing you could do to help. We are a close family and  provided her with all our love and support every step of the way. Paula  appreciated and valued all the support our family gave her and we  tried to ensure we spent quality time with her which she could enjoy. Paula was a wife & mother of two children, Ella & Leo, she was forced to retire last summer at the age of 52, as a  Barrister she devoted all her life working for the CPS, she strived for justice for all & turned her back on the big city law firms believing helping others was reward enough,  ill health took away her independence and mobility and as her health deteriorated further she  endured difficult days full of anxiety with the fear of what the future held. I would like to raise enough money to hire out a London venue for an exhibition to display my work.Once the venue has been funded any extra & a percentage of profit raised from my paintings, would undoubtedly go to a breast cancer charity. I would also like to raise awareness of women having regular checks to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages. Paula had always encouraged me with my passion for art and admired my work. During the recent late stages of her illness she repeatedly asked me "You must have an exhibition." I attach the link for my website http://jackie1abrahams.wix.com/artist  and I hope you enjoy viewing my work. Thank you for the time you have taken to look at my website and I look forward to hearing from you.
