UNIRAID 2020 - Arranca 100 Pó

Hi there!

We are the Arranca 100 Pó (Accelerate Without Dust) team that will be participating in the 2020 Edition of Arranca 100 Pó! We are Henrique Santos and Miguel Costa. So that those of you who do not speak Portuguese understand: 100 ("cem", "one hundred" in Portuguese) is pronounced the same way as "sem", which means "without" in Portuguese!

We both study at Lisbon School of Law and decided to join this humanitarian adventure wich is open only to college students.

The iniciative consists of a solidary adventure that aims to distribute, in Morocco, during 9 days, the largest ammount possible of charity material (books, pens, pencils, footballs, electronics,..) for the poor youth of the Sahara Desert - we are currently aiming at close to 100kg. Mindful of the challenge ahead of us, we decided to become part of it. Thanks to the Municipality of Almada, we now have the majority of the charity material that our smal, but powerful car can take.

Speaking of it, our car is a green 1994 Fiat Panda with a 0.9 liter engine. It is fairly robust, although it needs some preparation for the rough and extreme conditions that we face in February. Therefore, as the date for our adventure is getting closer and closer, we are currently in need of a little help to make this journey possible. The value that we are aiming for, if we reach it, will allow us to buy everything we need and cover some other small costs that we already had (from spare parts, electric components for night driving, an additional battery). This, in order to be able to reach the poor villages of the Moroccan Desert in our Green Camel
