Army Veteran Needs A Vehicle

I am a Vietnam Veteran trying to get back to work after a very rough year.  My place of employment is at the USPS in Charlotte, NC and I live about 15 miles from there.  I have no vehicle and haven't got the money to get one, right now.  I am in desperate need of a vehicle, as long as it runs lawfully, that is the reason for this request. I am in dire need. A vehicle is the only thing stopping me from being back at work and earning money again.  As soon as I can get a vehicle, I will be back at my job.

If I can get a used one or even rent one for a few weeks, until I start getting paid regularly again, this will allow me to get back to work, earn a good income again and hopefully, if it's in time, save my home, as well.  

I know it is alot of money I'm asking for, but I will use it to get me working a full-time, well-paid job at the USPS, where I have worked for 15 years, except for this past year.  If there is anything anyone can do to help me out, I would appreciate it very much, I have no other requests.
