If you have ever visited a Mediterranean country you will have noticed many street animals in a poor state of health or with appalling injuries. We are a legally registered charity in Kuşadasi Turkey, which cares for sick or injured street animals. We pay for their treatment, care for them while they recuperate and try to find them permanent homes. We also neuter those treated and any others we can as funds allow. Our vet bills are currently running at around GBP800 per month. We also treat minor injuries and infections ourselves without referring to vets. In addition to the vets bills the medication we use and food provided during medication costs around GBP120 per month.
There is a local municipal abandoned animals shelter, with no vet, which without our support would be a death trap. Members of our team visit several times per week to clean the compounds, feed the animals and take the sick and injured for veterinary treatment. This currently costs us between GBP180-220 on average. Our members give their time and transportation freely and spend a lot of their own money on feeding street animals.
