Campaign Story
Arilyn used to be an active girl! She was a top provincial gymnast with dreams of getting Springbok colours. She was a dedicated athlete in her school's team... Unfortunately Arilyn cannot pursue her dreams. Debilitating pain has caused her to become a child who is spending most days lying in bed. Attending school has become torture and she is mostly absent these days. It has devastated her dreams of matriculating next year. The pain stems from abnormal bone growth. It started on her left rib and has now spread. Her bones of her rib cage is no longer the only source of worry. Her left clavicle and scapula as well as vertebrae on her lower back are also acting up. The costs involved of getting a diagnosis is astronomical. She is due for a bone scan on Tuesday, 10 September at a cost of R8500. Thereafter follows a biopsy that the cardio thoracic surgeon estimates would cost R50000-00. This excludes consultation fees and analysis of the bone sample. A treatment plan to resolve the condition still needs to be considered. Living in a single parent home means that there are no means to cover the astronomical medical expenses required to improve her quality of life. Arilyn needs your help. Please donate?
