Arilyn’s Funny Bones

Update posted by Chantelle Younes On Sep 25, 2019

Thank you to the generous benefactor who settled Arilyn's pathology account!

Although there is still no diagnosis it is a relief to know that the scan shows no malignancies.

The lumps on her ribs does not appear on the scan. Arilyn is still struggling with pain but is wearing a brave face. The cardio thoracic surgeon will monitor her and she needs to see him each time she experiences severe pain. The biopsy is on hold at his discretion. An appointment with a physician is scheduled on 22 October 2019 to hopefully establish the cause of the mysterious inflammation. Dr. Smith has her on a prescription of Coxflam which reduces her pain levels from 9 to about 6 or 7. The school holidays seems to have brought her some relief as she doesn't need to carry around a massive school bag.

Hello supporters!

Arilyn's bone scan was done today. It revealed that she definitely does not have Costochondritis. I don't know how to interpret the scan. According to her the dark spots is where it usually hurts like crazy. The hard lumps on her ribs do not show on the scan... could it be something else? We have a doctor's appointment scheduled on Friday to get feedback from the cardio thoracic surgeon.
