ARGENT | A Short Film

Who We Are

We are a team of film, animation and new media students from Point College, Kota Damansara, who have banded together to produce a 30-minute short film as our final year project.

The Story

A mute teenage girl named Sil retreats to a virtual world where she can hide away from all her pain and grief. In this fantasy, she is given extraordinary abilities that are only accessible through sign language gestures. The young girl faces off with a speedster and an iron sand manipulator as she tries to come to terms with her sister’s death.

The Short Film

Argent is an action film; its story constantly shifting between virtual and reality. It is heavily influenced by the superhero films of today such as those of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Arrowverse shows, but with our own personalized take on it. With fight sequences and carefully crafted vfx, Argent promises a great spectacle in the journey of self-acceptance.

What We Need

Starting up as independent film makers is difficult, especially in this industry where budget makes the production quality. This is why we require your help and generosity for the production of this film.

• Our goal is to reach a total of 15,000 MYR (roughly around 3500 USD) . This may seem like a lot of money, even for a short film, but unfortunately the costs of production are rather high. So, with the help of your contribution, we will be able to fund equipment and location rental, props, costumes, post-production and festival submissions.
• Once we are able to reach our goal, we will be able to rent the best equipment to make a short film of high standard and quality. This investment will be worth your while, especially when we submit the film to national and international film festivals across the world.

• ARGENT shoot will commence in July 2019.
