Merhaba arkadaşlar,

Bunu yazmamın nedeni çok uzun süredir çabalamamın sonucu olarak Dünya’da ilk 100’de olan 3 okulun uluslararası kalkınma programına kabul edilmem ve bu okulların benim ve ailem için ciddi bir yıllık ücretinin olması.

Bu okullar Wageningen University & Research (14.), the University of Melbourne (15.) ve The University of Queensland (50-100).

Ben kimim derseniz, Bilkent Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi’nde kapsamlı burslu okuyup onur derecesiyle bitirmiş; Erasmus+ programında dünyanın en iyi genç üniversitelerinden biri olan Maastricht Üniversitesi’nde Küreselleşme ve Kalkınma yan dalı yapmış, okul süresince de birikimlerimle yurtdışında stajlar yapıp çalışıp kendimi kalkınma ve hayat üzerine adamış biriyim.

Yüksek lisans süresince tezim ve hayatımın devamında yapmak istediğim konuya gelirsek; Avustralya’da icat edilmiş Individual Deprivation Measure (Bireysel Yoksulluk Ölçümü) adlı proje üzerine çalışıp ekonomik ölçüm sistemleri yerine sosyal ölçüm sistemleri geliştirerek gerçek açlığı, yoksulluğu gösterecek kalkınma modelleri yaratıp ülkemin ve dünyanın adil bir şekilde gelişmesini sağlamak istiyorum.

Başvurabileceğim herhangi bir burs programı olsa başvurup bu bursu alıp sizleri hiç rahatsız etmek istemezdim fakat şu an için bu programları ya bulamadığım ya da böyle bir opsiyon olmadığı için toplu fonlama yolunu denemek istedim. Çorbada benim de tuzum olsun derseniz gerçekten çok sevinirim.

Dear Reader,

The reason I’m writing this is, I got accepted to 3 of the top 100 universities in the world on Development Studies. Unfortunately, my family and I cannot afford the tuition fees of these schools. These are Wageningen University & Research (14^th), the University of Melbourne (15^th) and the University of Queensland (50-100^th).

Basically, I’m Can Ozan from Turkey, I studied Political Science and Public Administration in Bilkent University through comprehensive scholarship and graduated with an honor degree. During my Erasmus+ exchange programme, I completed Globalization & Development Minor in Maastricht University. In addition to that, I have always tried to improve my vision via finding internship/working opportunities around the world.

My thesis and the area I want to dedicate my life is, working on social measurement tools such as Gross National Happiness and Individual Deprivation Measure to identify insufficiency of the economy centric tools. Then I want to create social centric tools to display the real level of poverty and to devise development plans to help my country and the world develop more fairly.

I’m sorry for asking this to you but, I did not find any scholarship programs that I can apply for these schools. If there were any suitable scholarship opportunity, I would have gained it. For this reason, I’m trying my chance on crowdfunding. If you want to support me, I would really appreciate it.
