Campaign Story
As individuals and families recently evacuated from Afghanistan are arriving into Jersey City, the local refugee agency -- Church World Service -- is responsible for resettling many of them. They are looking for support in providing services for new arrivals.
One of the needs is for furnishing apartments for new community members, which are many and have to be set up quickly as people arrive. We are raising funds to supply one major appliance needed for one such apartment.
If you are able to donate any amount, this would definitely help!
We are looking for up to $500 for one appliance (it may cost less). Any funds that remain after purchase are to be used for other appliances or basic supplies for this or other newly-arrived Afghan families in Jersey City.
