Hi everyone!

My name is Allain Paul Macaspac Estuesta, 27 years old, from the Philippines. I am diagnosed with leukemia entering my final year at the University. I decided to withdraw from Rizal Technological University for the upcoming semester with the hope of making a comeback after treatment.

For the first time in my life, everything was put on hold. I had one job: to get better. To increase my chances of overcoming this illness, I need to undergo 6 cycles of chemotherapy.

I need to gather funds amounting to Php 300,000 - 400,000 or approximately $6,000 - $8,000 for my first cycle of chemotherapy, which will start on the last week of January.

I have faith in the goodness of people and I believe that no amount is too small for a great cause. It would be a great blessing if you would consider donating any amount to help me and my family cover the costly procedure of my treatment. Thanks in advance for your prayers and support!

-------------------------------------September 27, 2020 Update-----------------------------------

My journey for almost 1 year were filled struggles, anxiety, fear, pain, sadness and frustrations. Combined with long waits for government financial assistance, the anxiousness to obtain lab results and months of stay in the hospital. I thank God for my family, friends, and church members, who were consistent help in my needs. Yes, we do not always have money to pay for food during our stay in the hospital. Not to mention the hospital bills, the regular costs of living and travel during this pandemic. What can I say, God provides!

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

I felt every needle piercing through my skin and spine, where blood are being drawn from my veins every 4 hours. I held back my scream and tears most of the time, because no one would be there for me as depression drowns me due to the side effects of chemo meds.

Despite of all, my journey was also filled with joy and laughter because we worked together and kept moving forward. I believe that it is always how you face your fears. It may either stop you from moving forward or may inspire you to take the first step of faith. I didn’t let it devour my life filled with happiness and creating new memories.

I found new friends while realizing who my true friends are, who have been there since the beginning and never left. I also cherish the community and strangers who have helped in any way that they can. The fundraising campaigns, visitations filled with smiles and small tokens of care in our home and hospital.

Truly, this is a long journey. I taught me to live and cherish every moment as if it were my last. I’m just grateful that there’s so much love and support coming from different people in my life.

The result of my September 11th biopsy were out. It broke my heart into a million pieces and was told that we all lost it. My doctor confirmed the relapse of my A.L.L. and firmly encourages a bone marrow transplant.

My story is not over yet.

And so the 2nd chapter begins to unfold...

Thank you for reading and making a difference in my life. God bless you!
