ANZI MATTA NEEDS YOUR HELP FOR MINOR SURGERY

Dear All,

Our beloved friend, sister and amazing artist/social activist, Anzi Matta, needs your help. After last year's motorcycle accident in which she broke bones and suffered two fractures in her left arm, she had to undergo bone surgery including the placement of metal pins. The operation went well and Anzi gradually adjusted.. Unfortunately the pin on her elbow has begun to move, it is actually now visibly protruding from her elbow (see photos) and has caused infection. Anzi is now frquently experiencing extreme pain. A minor operation to fix the pin in her elbow is urgently needeed so that the infection doesn't continue to spread.

The operation will cost, according to the hospital administration, between 3.300.000 to 6.600.000 IDR (US$235.00 - US$470.00). Anzi is not just a social activist, but also a writer, artist, and illustrator. She has written several articles for national and local news outlets on various community issues such as LGBTQ solidarity, and helped co-found the Bukan di Dapur (Not in the Kitchen) collective in 2015, a project concerning food sustainability and gender issues. From her close friends to homeless strangers on the street, Anzi always shares whatever she has. She has also contributed to many projects like providing books for community libraries and prisoners and helping small independent publishers. Currently she is active in East Borneo, Balikpapan Chapter of Really-really Free market (giving away things such as food, clothing, sugar, and rice for free in the park every two weeks on Sunday) and the ongoing library project named Ikarus Space.

Anzi needs your help to resume her activity as a dedicated social activist and as a creator of her clebrated pencil-based illustrations in her own unique style.
