Katie is the most wonderful partner and mother in the world. After having our first child, she began to suffer from anxiety and depression. Unable to work because of her condition, she went on to raise our two beautiful children and not give herself a moment's thought. We've been together for nearly 12 years and we want to be able to get married in a small, intimate ceremony because she can't handle a big wedding. Not everyone understands, but it's what she needs.

I can't even begin to explain how her condition impacts on her life, and our family- simple things like going to the shop can be an impossible struggle and it's not something that can be rationalised by the sufferer. Anxiety makes anxiety worse because of the frustration. Because she can't work, we can't afford to pay for our little moment of solace.

Anxiety and depression take so much from those afflicted- and as well as the personal impact there's the simple fact that money can become a problem when you can't work; I'm lucky that I can afford the basics but sometimes it's uncertain.

This money would help us get rid of a small amount of debt (that we just can't pay fast enough to stop interest on it!), pay for a small wedding ceremony and to complete our family in a way that can contribute to my partner's wellbeing.

If we're lucky enough to hit the target or exceed it, anything over our target will be donated to Mind- The Mental Health Charity.
