DEAR SINGAPORE: BLACK LIVES MATTER

Ever since I saw the events in the USA that unfolded following the George Floyd murder, whilst many of us are grieving here in Singapore, and other Asian countries, the murder of George Floyd, and the issues of police brutality and racism are amongst us all.

I wanted to show my support for these causes, and provide as much monetary aid as I could on my own, but beyond that, I feel as though our communities here in Singapore and other Southeast Asian counties can help by donating towards the following causes

All the money from this go-fund-me will be donated equally amongst 3 organisations.

1. Campaign Zero: An organization fighting police brutality in America, with over 1000 people being killed in America by the police, and that sixty percent of victims did not have a gun or were involved in activities that should not require police intervention, Campaign Zero aims to end police brutality in the USA by providing a comprehensive package of urgent policy solutions - informed by data, research and human rights principles which ultimately can change the way police serve their community.

2. Black Visions Collective: (From their website) Black Visions Collective (BLVC) believes in a future where all Black people have autonomy, safety is community-led, and we are in the right relationship within our ecosystems.
Through the development of powerful strategic campaigns, BLVC seeks to expand the power of Black people across the Twin Cities metro area and Minnesota.

3: National Bail Out Fund: The national bailout fund is an organization built on reuniting families, creating a national community of leaders who have experienced incarceration, and working with groups across the country to transform harmful systems to keep people safe and free. Current donated funds are directed towards bailing out protestors who were protesting against systemic racism and police brutality.
