Anti Jigger Campaign

The county I come from(Uasin Gishu) is inhabited by people of different economic capabilities. There are those that are very poor i.e live by less than half a dollar a day. As a result, they are suffering from poverty and the problems associated with it. One main challenge that comes with poverty is jigger infestation. Many members of our community have fallen victims to this neglected but very dangerous attack. Women,men and children have all been affected by the jiggers. This has led to interference with their daily activities. Consequently, their economic well being has deteriorated making the once strong men and women in the community beggars. There has been some campaigns from the national level to fight this plague but its not enough. The funding I get from this fundraiser will be used in the following phases of the campaign: 1. Rehabilitation of the affected members by removing the jiggers, medication for the wounds and provision of shoes. 2. Empowerment of the phase one graduates through training and equiping them with skills to engage themselves in income generating activities.
