Another Step for My Dream Job

I want to be a game maker!

Hello, my name is Alamsyah, 22 years old. I have a dream job. That dream is producing video games. Tons of games. Games that I will proud in the making. I've had this dream since I was a kid. And these last few years I realize that I could make it happen.

To be able to live up as a game maker, I need help. I really need help. I need two kinds of help. First, people that will help me in person. That will struggle with me from the very start. And I am grateful to find a friend that willing to this with me. And the second one, people that will help us to move forward. People that support our dream.

Our team

Currently, it's only the two of us, with two main role. I am the artist, technically speaking. And he is the programmer. And because the lack of people in our team, I am in charge of game designer and probably will become the marketing person.

I am taking many position because my friend already have a 'real' job and now working on different island. And he is still willingly to work with me as his programmer. Which is grateful for me. And so, both of us working remotely, and sometime argue over our game through discord or facebook.

Obstacle that I face

With the current devices I have, it's hard to make any good games. Not only that, the lack of tools I need also hinder my progress to finish games that in the making. Fortunately, we can use the game engine for free and able to commercialize our game without have to buy first a license. Which is great!

So, the only obstacle that hinder me now is :

• My low spec laptop
• No pen tablet
• No mouse

That is all.

My laptop is Lenovo ideapad 300-14ibr with Intel Celeron N3150. Which is not even a comparison to most of developer in my town have (most people have Intel i5). And it only have one slot for RAM.

Currently I still can make games with this. But I can't do multitask with it. The game engine already take much process while it run. And the application I use to draw will also eat more process. Sometime, it's so frustrating that it freeze because of too much to process.

As an artist (technically speaking) it is a must to have at least one functioning pen tablet. Or, a durable mouse that will endure lot's of clicking. But, for the past 4 months, I have to work with only touchpad as my tool to draw. Which is time consuming. Too much of time consuming.

What I need?

The least that I need is a laptop that have enough power to do heavy multi task. Most of the developer in my town suggest I should get anything that have Intel i5 or equal for the processor and at least with 4 GB RAM.

As for a good pen tablet, the cheapest from Wacom for now is around 80 USD. And for mouse I can get from some store that durable enough for just around 10 USD.

The total would be a really huge number for me. I can't afford it only by myself. I still can make my way to get the mouse. But to get the pen tablet and the laptop... it just to far.

So.... I really need help. Lots of people around my community told me that they will help me. They will support me. As long as I have the games ready. And so, to get the game ready, I need better equipment to help me finish my work.
