Annamaria’s Edventure to South Africa

Hi Everyone!

I'm Annamaria and I'm currently in my fourth year of a Teaching degree at La Trobe University in Australia. I have always been passionate about helping people and empowering them to believe in themselves and their abilities. I want to help people to know and believe that they can make a lasting, positive impact on and in their world. All they need is someone to believe in them first, and then education is a vehicle that can enable them to go the remainder of the way. 

I decided to volunteer with Edventure International in South Africa because I believe by participaring in this program I will gain useful, practical and invaluable skills and experience neccessary to achieving my goals in edcucating and working with young people. At the same time, I will also be helping to impact, inspire and educate a local community.

In this three week program, I will be participating in workshops, learning valuable, social and leadership skills that will be then applied to the projects. These projects include teaching children in the local community, helping build a classroom, helping out in the local orphanage and helping to conserve the safari parks. Over the three weeks, I will also be participating in a number of events and activities in the local community to familiarise and immerse myself in the culture. 

I am so excited for this trip and can't wait to go! However, I need your help in getting there! If you believe in what I am doing, please donate.
