Animal Shelter Bianca needs help

Around 30.000 animals are abandoned in Portugal.

For the past 17 years Bianca animal shelter has been working in the area of Sesimbra, Portugal. Rescuing dogs and cats from the surrounding neighborhoods.

Thousands of animals, some abused, others abandoned have passed through Bianca before finding a new home.

Others have stayed behind. They lived beautiful lives in the shelter. Safe and taken care by caring workers and volunteers.

But Bianca needs YOUR help.

Bianca is scared for the safety of the animals. A large part of the shelter is only protected by a single net.

Getting in the shelter is easy, and Bianca has been victim of vandalism or people trying to break in to harm the animals. Workers' have been abused in the past due to that security breach.

And so, Bianca needs your help to build a security wall, high enough so that people can't enter the premises and hurt the animals.

The amount of the costs for the whole project is 10.000 euros.

10.000 euros might not sound like a lot but..

Bianca is underfunded.

The only official financial support they receive, is from the city of Sesimbra for the amount of 3200 euros a month.

And that doesn't even cover the food for the 400 animals living at Bianca.

On an average month Bianca spends 3500 in food, in medicines around 2000 euros, and we are not counting medical operations that happen weekly, not the costs of basic things like transportation, trash bags, electricity, water, and so on...

Bianca mostly survives on donations. Donations from all over the world of caring and loving people. And thanks to all these donations, and volunteers travelling from different countries to work at Bianca, Bianca has managed to stay alive and keep rescuing animals.

Currently Bianca has around 350 dogs and 50 cats. For a shelter actually for around 200 animals.
