Animal Garden is a no-kill shelter run by the Cherubims NPO (Non-Profit Organization) in Okinawa, Japan. Currently the shelter cares for around 70 dogs and over a hundred cats. The shelter residents come from all walks of life, some are relinquished by their owners, some are rescued from being gassed at the local animal control center, and some are strays who were abandoned. Regardless of how they end up at the shelter, Animal Garden provides a safe haven where the animals receive love and care and get a second chance at life.
As a no-kill shelter, Animal Garden is commited to caring for all animals regardless of their age or physical disabilities. However, the commitment comes at a cost. Taking care of animals requires significant resources; including food, medical care and other expenses to keep maintain the shelter facility. We receive no funding from the government and rely largely on individual donations to keep the shelter running.
Every yen you donate will go directly to help rescue animals in need. No donation amount is small and we would really appreciate your contribution to help us sustain Animal Garden as a refuge for rescued animals in Okinawa.
The shelter is open to visitors everyday of the week from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like to visit the shelter and see your donations at work. You can find more information of the shelter at www.okianimalgarden.com
