Hi my name is Danielle and,I am an avid animal lover !!!!!   I have a Yorki Chawowa mix that I rescued after huricane Whilma. When my daughter found her she clearly had a traumatic experience !!! We found out that she was being used for breeding, and kept in very poor conditions which broke her heart . When huricane Whilma warnings were anounced, the family put the dog's in a play pen in the living room. They left them alone in the house during the storm locked up in a play pen, with very little food or water for them during the strom !!! The storm ripped the back half of the house and the roof completly off, and flooded the house while the dogs were locked in the play pen. With no way to escape I can only imagine how scary it was for them, and then to be left behind not just for the storm but for day's after the storm passed in a flooded living room. The family had the house repaired, and while it was the house was being repaired. The family stayed with other family members still leaving the dog's at the house, alone again with little water and food for the dog's. I cannot believe anyone can do that, especailly after a traumatic experience as a huricane. My daughter heard the horrrible story and fell in love with Pumkin Pie, we believe that the family never took that great of care of the dog's! So i'm not surprised that they left them behind as thsy did, we were just very disapointed in there lack of compasion for them. My daughter just happend to be walking down the street with a friend when they stopped to pet the dogs, and the woman asked if she wanted her if she could provide a loving home. When my daughter showed up with a little white matted mess that is now known to our family and friends as Pumpkin Pie, I thought to my self what an ugly little dog we just have to have her!!!!  She has been a beloved member of our family ever since !!! When we decided to keep her I made a promise to her that she would have the best life, and loving family that she deserved like any pet or person. Signs of trauma were very evident with her, but she turned out to be the best little dog ever! I could not imagine my life without her!!!! She has been blind for about a year now, we have fallen on some tuff times as tuff times have fallen many family's these days. In wanting to keep my promise for her to have the best quality of life we took her the vet, and said it will cost three thousand dollars for the treatment she really deserves. We are asking for help for a beautiful loving pet, that is as big a part of our family as my own children. Pumkin is getting older now, but I do believe giving her the gift of her sight back is just a small price to pay. For all the joy and conpanionship she has given me, and my family so that is why I decided to do the fundraiser for her. She is my heart!!!! I really hope you can find it your heart to help give pumkin her sight back, and provide her with comfort in her last days of life on this god loving earth. Bless your heart for the help need to provide Pumkin Pie with the gift of sight.
