My daughter, Angelica Flores, 25 years of age was recently diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) - a congenital heart defect in which there is a hole in the wall that divides the upper chambers of the heart. The doctors said she needs to undergo surgery in order to close the hole and it costs Php500,000. We just don't have that kind of money to make the surgery happen as soon as possible.
I couldn't help not to feel bad for my daughter. She used to be so lively and happy but I've witnessed her fall into depression since she found out about her condition. She couldn't do the things she used to do before and she couldn't even continue working as a preschool teacher because the doctors advised her to avoid stress and strenuous activities.
Angel is a caring daughter, sister, and aunt to her family. She's also very loving towards her students. She is a sunshine to us and as a mother, I don't want to see that light slowly fade into darkness. My Angel is really strong even when she's battling with this condition and her depression, every time I see her smile, I know that she's doing her best to be brave amidst all these pain.
I want her to be able to conquer this battle. Let's all help her find hope that everything will be okay and that she will soon go back to her 'normal' life.
We would really appreciate all the help that you can give to my family. Thank you very much in advance and God bless us all.
