Campaign Story
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
My name is Angel and I come from East Africa. I came here to help a friend purchase construction machines but the money got stolen, along with my passport and important documents. The debt brought about by this has caused me and my family a lot of trouble. The debt collectors hurt my father and he is now hospitalised. He's been needing treatment since then because of his paralysis.
To help my family, I had no choice but worked on the streets. I got very little money even though I worked non-stop every day. Some men would force me to take drugs and smoke so I would be paid more, but at times many would just walk out without paying and would even beat me up or kick me out of the hotels while I was still naked.
After sometime, I got a boyfriend whom I thought would take good care of me. However, it turned out to be an abusive relationship and he threatened to send our sex videos (which I didn’t know about) to everyone if I didn’t do what he wanted. I was lucky to have a friend who helped me out and took me to safety, but it means I was back on the streets. I tried advertising business online, but it got worse with the drug abuse and beating up.
After sometime, another friend introduced me to Sons and Daughters and they offered to help me, so I can stop this business. I have joined their programs like sewing, business planning, finance management and Bible study. These skills will help me in the future, especially when I start my own farming business back home.
In addition to this fundraising page, I have also been working hard saving up money through candle making, sewing, and my t-shirt fundraiser (Click here to order a shirt: Angel's Shirts).
With this fundraising target I am hoping to raise about $154,000 so that I can buy land (hekas) to build my farm business, a business license, materials for a green house, chicken cages, training courses for farming, 3 months rent and personal necessities in Africa. With my business set up, I can then pay off my debts, treat my father and take care of my family who depends on me.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my story, with your help I hope that I will be able to get this fundraising done.
Peace Be With You,
Angel

Dear Angela, as you know, most of us in HK can only dream of owning land. So it brings great joy to think of you on your land in your home country! May God be glorified in all your efforts to take care of yourself, loved ones through the blessings of your business. My prayer for you, Lord willing: “ The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.” ( Deuteronomy 28:8)
