Our very dear friend, Angeli is 25 years old and was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma this October. For everyone who knows her, you know what an amazing and extraordinary human being she is. Always cheerful, unbelievably strong and she always put her friends and family before herself.
The eldest among 7 kids, daughter of a highschool teacher and a salesman, she is striving to help her family through her work. While her parents and sister, are also earning to provide for their family. They still largely depend on Angeli’s income through her work in a bank. So much so that she is willing to spend really long hours (yes, more than 10 hours every day), less sleep (as in 2 to3 hours) and even weekends (including holidays) to finish a stressful and demanding job and still excel at work. She even took on the burden to look for another source of income just to help out in her household. She always thought that if she only worked hard she can succeed and give her family a better life. If you know her, you know can attest how she really strives and sometimes stubborn by ignoring advice from people to slow down and take a rest once in a while. Yes! She’s like a superhero in that sense, always ready to take on a battle headstrong.
This clearly took a toll on her health this time. Early this year she took her Annual Physical exam and when the results came back, they found something on her lungs.
It turned out to be a tumor pressing against her lungs. Her recent trip to the hospital brought her the saddest news to date in her life. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma and immediately recommended to turn to treatment. This is one news you wouldn't want to hear as a young person still starting out on her life.
She is currently on leave from work, which is a big blow to her family because she is the main breadwinner for their big family of 9, until now. Right now her only solution is to undergo chemotherapy sessions which will start this week. She has loving friends and relatives who are willing to support her in every way possible. However, the total cost of the treatment is very expensive and she has no means to finance the entire hospitalization and chemotherapy, especially since she also has 5 more brothers and sisters who are still in school, the youngest still in grade school. Resources are running out fast ever since her results came out and she was cut off her main source of income.
I’m sure in one way or another she has touched your lives in big or small ways. You have been inspired by her positivity and you have been touched by her kindness. We are praying that through your help, she will be able to undergo the treatment. Hope that you will become a light in this dark journey of ours and that you will become an instrument to save our friend's life.
Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Angeli. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this thing. Please spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
