Proud Mama!      Almost fifteen years ago, I was blessed with the greatest gift God could give me, my daughter. She was perfect in my eyes, except she wasn't. Her right ear did not develop inside and out. She was severely deaf in one ear and slightly deaf in the other. They told me not to expect too much of her speaking and learning abilities. Doctors gave me all the books to teach her sign language but I was determinded to help my child succeed! I read to her and had lots of meaningful conversations with my toddler. Fast forward ten years later and nine surgeries later to reconstruct her ear and to insert a hearing device, I am proud to say that my daughter is a straight A student. She reads way above her reading level and speaks very well. Worst Year Ever :(       In 2014 we started planning for my daughter's quinceanera(a coming of age event in our culture) but we have had some hiccups along the way. We had already started planning for this event, date set, gave deposit and were happily planning our event when my husband lost his job. We had to use the savings we had on our bills and expenses. MY husband was out of a job for a month and a half, thank God he found a job and we were back on track. A month later my grandfather passed away and there were more expenses. Now I am starting to think that maybe the universe is trying to tell me to forget my daughter'e party, but I kept on planning. This morning my husband calls to inform me that our only car just stopped working. Now I am sure that there is really something beyond me that is taking our spirits with them!! Do dreams really come true?      Many people might say, it's just a party? But it's not, little girls think of their quinceanera as like their weddings. They are as expensive. I want to be able to provide my daughter with this beautiful quinceanera, but I cannot afford it. I am asking for donations to help cover some of her expenses. She is wanting a halloween themed quinceanera that I simply cannot afford. My daughter is a kind hearted person who puts everyone ahead of herself. She loves to read and will be taking pre-ap classes next year as a freshmen. I am so proud of her and I will do anything to try to make her dream a reality. Please help me make her dreams come true!!!!
