Its something we see all the time now sponsorship for charity personally i feel awkward asking for it, but on this occasion i didnt feel it was on option not to.

Im raising money not for a charity but for a friend and colleague whos going through some tough times, Andy was diagnosed with cancer for the second time 6 months ago, this time he had to undergo a six hour operation to remove a spinal tumor that was causing paralysis from the waist down by removing the tumour they had to remove a vertebrae. The operation was a complete success and prevented him from being wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. Andy faces months of rehabilition due to nerve damage caused by the tumor, he has since had chemotherapy which as many of you know isnt pleasent.

What im trying to do is raise some money for andy so he can either re-train when he gets well, take his family for a much needed break or simply stop worrying about bills for a while.

To help you all dig a little deeper i thought id put myself through some pain, on the 4th of october i intend to cycle from wigan to kielder water in northumberland 140 miles,  take part in a marathon on the sun  then cycle back to wigan, ill even post some footage of the most painful bits.
