The Cancer Treatment Support Fund in Lithuania is looking for urgent financial support for a melanoma patient.
Melanoma is the most aggressive skin cancer able to kill the patient within 3 to 4 months from the onset of the first symptoms.
Andrius, the patient who contacted our fund, has been battling the disease for several years now. During that time, the ground slid from under his feet three times, but even after the third relapse, the father of two young children is in no hurry to give up.
Andrius still believes he has a chance to recover. After all, the situation has changed
dramatically when new innovative medicines, which can significantly prolong his life, were discovered. Medications that completely eliminate the symptoms of the disease and fundamentally alter the quality of life for the patient. The metastases disappear and the patient feels healthy and able to work.
Unfortunately, these medicines are not reimbursed in Lithuania and are not
affordable for Andrius himself. Andrius previously successfully managed the financial burden but he is not able to do so anymore.
This is why we are asking, for financial support for Ipilimumab - a monoclonal antibody used to treat Andrius, on his behalf .
We ask you to support Andrius in this fight - even a small contribution would help to win this battle.
The Cancer Treatment Support Fund is an independent, transparent charity and support fund for medicines and other treatments that are needed by oncology patients but are not reimbursed by the state. All the members of the charity work on volunteer basis. Feel free to ask questions, we are happy to answer - [email protected].
