this is the story of why I can't sleep at night.
A month and a half ago, my boyfriend, Nabil, left for a world tour by bike in partnership with the Lebanese government. The plan was to travel around the world with basically no money to prove how supportive human beings can be to others. After 3 weeks, he finally reached Istanbul, first stop of his tour.
However, there things started to get complicated. The Lebanese government said it wasn't supportive anymore of his trip as having someone traveling without money wasn't a good image for the country. As they would not give him the visas, his sponsor therefore dropped him. Nabil managed to collect enough money to pay for a ticket to return to Beirut, his home city. What happend afterwards was completely unexpected. He was informed by the consulate that he was investigated by the police as, when he got off from a cruise boat in Marmaris, no one had stamped his passport. The investigation is simply a formality and it will end in 3 weeks from today.
In order to survive in Istanbul, after being hospitalized for malnutrition, he sold his bike and all his equipment for about 800$. Two days later, those money were stolen while he was sleeping in a hostel. He is now, therefore, stuck there with no economic resources due also to his parents being unemployed.
I did all I could to support him but, being a student, I have very limited finances. That is why I m here today pleading from some support as from Monday he will probably be homeless in a country where he can't find any job, as he doesn't have a visa, and lacks of any welfare system.
Please, help me bring him home
