After the London Olympics, I wanted the Games to continue, and Rio seemed a long way away. So I set myself the challenge of participating in every Olympic sport by the time the Rio Games started in 2016.

When I mentioned this to friends, they suggested that I look into doing it as a charity fundraiser. I struggled to think of which charity I would like to support, and then it hit me - surely the best thing to do would be to put any money raised back into the event that sparked the challenge - the Olympic Games.

Of course, the Games themselves are an industry, and don't need funding from me - I really don't expect to be competing with McDonald's. However, the athletes do need funding, and so the total raised will go towards the training of a young athlete who is aiming to compete at the Games in 2020.

Anything you can support with is greatly appreciated, and you can do it however you like - a one off donation, a sponsorship (where you pledged a certain amount per event, or per 200m total distance, for example) or as a reward for a challenge YOU set (as an example, I have already been pledged £50 if I can successfully complete a dive with a somersault).
