Campaign Story
Chloe: The Superhero
Chloe is a 14-year old 8th grader in the western Chicagoland area. Like most kids, she goes to school and participates in sports. But, unlike most kids she has a very rare genetic disorder called Williams Syndrome. She faces challenges every day that most of us will never understand, and that's why I call her Wonder Woman. She knows she's different from everyone else, but her charisma and true love an appreciation for people make her stand out from the crowd!
Many kids have skills they would like to improve upon, but Chloe's deficits are so great that she requires much time and attention to ensure success. So much so that I have quit working full-time in efforts to work on improving her skills. Chloe has much more potential than her academics at school offer her.
Currently, she is reading at a second to third grade level and her math skills are a little below that. I've devoted quite a bit of research to the area and have discovered the difference an iPad could make in her life and learning.
Our current financial situation doesn't permit me to purchase one. I've looked into grants and charities, but I cannot seem to find a fit for us. Chloe isn't non-verbal and she is thriving, she just needs a tool that will help her learn and discover the world around her. Apple's apps would be great for that!
I truly believe in Chloe's potential and that she can learn the basics and graduate from high school with a regular diploma. Please help us out!
