My son, who is a 16 yr old sophomore in high school, has applied and has been accepted to be an exchange student in Spain for his junior year. When he mentioned the idea to me, I was excited at the idea of him being able to do this, but worried that the financial part of it would be far to much for my husband and I to come up with. We are like many people these days, living paycheck to paycheck. I told my son that he would have to help do what he could to try and raise the money such as find a job, do odd jobs for our family members and people in our neighborhood along with trying to figure out a fundraiser. My mother and I have done a yard sale, I have put together a candle/cookie dough fundraiser, a "Thirty-one" fundraiser and my son has written up a letter to send out to family members and friends as well as people in the community. I would hate to not be able to come up with the needed funds to get him to Spain. He has wanted to do something like this for many years, and now that he has the opportunity, I am doing my best to make his dream become a reality.
I am asking help from anyone who has the means to do so financially. If you could donate to help make my sons dream come true, we would be extremely grateful to you.
