An American Childhood- Short Film

Collin is a 9 year old boy living a typical american childhood until his life is forever changed by an increasingly common act of violence against a family member. His story further adds to the national dialogue on racial profiling and discrimination.

“An American Childhood,” was written with the intent to bridge the gap between a divisive American society.

It's a challenge to get people in America to empathize with each other. To appreciate everyone FOR their differences is an even greater, more important challenge.

Right now tensions in America are high and volatile. In order to be effective and resist the temptation for separation, these tensions need to be unarmed with the precision of defusing a bomb. Red wire or blue wire.

I excel at making people feel something when they watch my films. If you note the array of genres I've touched upon, you’ll find that my films can make you laugh, cry, and even frighten you. One thing is for sure, the film will arouse a specific emotion deep inside you.

ALL people need to stand up for ALL people, especially for those who have made dedicated sacrifices for this country that are often swept under the rug.

I can do my part, but the reality is I need help. I know how to motivate people with story and feeling, but in order to get it right it, I need finances and a great deal of support.

I pride myself on shooting the film very efficiently, at an extremely low cost, while still yielding a high level of quality. This is the holy grail when it comes to independent filmmaking.

I spent a lot of my life diligently learning my craft, with a journey rich in life experiences. This is the only way I believe you can truly identify with the masses.

Some people have the benefit of contributing a substantial amount for this project budget, which will be game changing! Every dollar given makes a huge impact as it shows we are all willing to make a difference. We, as a society, need to accept that there is a problem and something needs to be done about it. Immediately.

No dollar that is raised will be taken for granted. Every dollar will be empowered to unify us as a people, all living together in this world we love and call “Home”.
