AMPHAN CYCLONE RELIEF FUND FOR BENGAL & ODISHA – Campaigned By SETU Sverige Foundation

Current Scenario : In India , a part of southern Bengal and Odisha is completely devastated! The evening of 20th May 2020 has been disastrous for thousands of lives, taking their homes along with their loved ones. At least 10 thousand people have lost their homes, it is too early to gauge the actual loss. The aftermath is unimaginable.

How your contributions will help the needy? : We from the SETU Sverige Foundation, based out of Sweden, will start working in the affected areas of Bengal and Odisha asap. The money raised will be used in affected areas, our ground volunteers with the help of local NGOs (In Bengal Aspire and Glee and Ashayen , Odisha) , We will supply medicines, proper sanitation, and food to the homeless. During this time diseases spread at a rapid pace, so primarily our target would be to help the homeless people to provide resistance to these diseases. In the villages of Sundarbans snakes are a main problem during the aftermath of a cyclone like this, we will try to help the locals to have proper precautions from snakes. The list of work is endless, in our limited capacity we will try our best. It goes without saying that food sustainable for few days will be provided to the needy.

Who are we?: We are SETU Sverige Foundation a Swedish Registered NGO (Org No 802530-2145). We work for India. Right now all our work has been focused on the present COVID-19 scenario. We have worked in the states of Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi NCR, West Bengal, Odisha and Gujarat. We have supplied PPE kits to hospitals, food, and rations to thousands of daily wagers and their families, we have also worked to improve the infrastructure of quarantine centers in the interiors of Bihar.
